Overweight and somewhat out of shape at 184 pounds. My only other explanation is that I am underheight (5′ 9″) for my weight. So I have decided to lose weight. Seriously. I have chosen to follow Pierre Dukan’s low-carb, high-protein plan after watching a news segment featuring the successes from the program. A visit to the Dukan web site helped me create a personalized weight-loss plan that sounded pretty reasonable:
- My target weight is 167 pounds
- My target date is June 30, 2011
So, I purchased the Dukan book for my Nook and started reading. I will spend the next couple of days gathering the food that will take me to successful weight loss, learning how to like Greek yogurt, oat bran and other dietary rules of the plan. Will begin the program on May 5. According to the book, there are two phases for weight loss followed by two phases of learning how to keep it off.
